This version of Buzz ‘n’ Read incorporates African-American English, thus alleviating the challenge for children who have grown up speaking in this dialect. As a result, users may find that they can learn to read more efficiently.

A distinctive feature of Buzz ‘n’ Read is its integration of speech recognition technology. The app listens as children sound out words, providing support until each word is accurately pronounced. This interactive component encourages self-correction and helps build confidence in young readers.

The app's instructions are delivered through the voice of a Black child, creating a familiar and welcoming atmosphere for users. The app is structured into three primary sections:

 <li>Connecting letter sounds to form words.</li>
